CSO Welcomes Two Associate Directors

Two new associate directors, Sahar Ali Dar and Tiffany Farber, have joined the staff of the Career Services Office (CSO) at The John Marshall Law School.

Dar and Farber are counseling day and evening students and alumni on career planning, job search strategies, and interviewing skills.

In addition, Dar is involved with managing the office’s programming, and Farber is the primary contact for students who are interested in post-graduate judicial clerkships at both the state and federal level. She counsels and works closely with these students throughout the application process.

After Dar received her JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, she practiced corporate law at Schiff Hardin LLP in Chicago for more
than four years. While there, she managed a pro bono family law program through Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS) and Apna Ghar, a local domestic violence agency. She expanded this program to a citywide CVLS clinic in 2010 and is serving as its director.

Dar is president of the Just the Beginning Foundation Associate Board and also is the incoming president of the National Pakistani American Bar Association, and the incoming vice president of Affiliate Relations of the North American South Asian Bar Association.

Dar received a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in economics, international studies, and psychology from Case Western Reserve University. While in law school, Dar also completed a business certificate from The Wharton School.

Farber is a dedicated disability rights advocate and has worked at the Center for Disability and Elder Law as a staff attorney and pro bono coordinator. She was a Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) Intern at Access Living of Metropolitan Chicago.
Before joining CSO, Farber was a solo practitioner and career coach. As a career coach, she wrote a blog for attorneys in transition through the
Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and founded a networking group for Chicago area job seeking attorneys. She is a member of the Illinois Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Tiffany Farber

Farber received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University-Bloomington and a JD from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
